The race marked the only event counting towards the European Supercross Championship.

Fonseca ruled the 250cc main event from start to finish aboard his Honda. Remarkably, this makes the Costa Rican the European Champion.

After 18 gruelling laps, Frenchman David Vuillemin came runner-up and Nick Wey rounded out the podium.

Steve Boniface, aboard a 250 four-stroke, and Kelly Smith came fourth and fifth, respectively.

Alex Salvini was first man home in the smaller division. He is the European 125cc title winner.

Nate Adams had a horrifying crash while attempting a backflip. The American was lucky to get away with a broken leg.
